Here at Tutorful, we are committed to protecting our tutors and want all tutors to have an enjoyable and comfortable experience using our platform. We want our tutors to be able to tell us when something doesn’t feel right, so we have our Report a Student function to help in these situations.

We monitor particular words and phrases across the site, which allows us to make sure that inappropriate or non-genuine requests never reach you. However, as we have thousands of conversations taking place every day, these messages can sometimes slip through. These instances are rare, but just in case you do receive something that you don’t think is quite right, you can report this to us!

Reporting a student:

The quickest way to report a student is through your messages with them. To do so, you just need to hit the little ‘i’ symbol in the top right corner and hit the ‘Report student’ button.

Once you’ve hit the ‘Report Student’ button, a short form will appear outlining which circumstances a student should be reported for:

If the message fits in with the outlined reasons, just click the ‘Report Student’ button and this will alert the Tutorful team to take a look at your message thread with the student. We’ll then take the appropriate action or ask you for further information relating to your report.

If you wish to provide further information before we reach out to you, please contact us here with any information that you feel is relevant. Similarly, in any case where you’re unsure if the message fits any of the mentioned reasons but still feel the student should be reported, please get in contact with us and we’ll be happy to look into it for you.

To report a student through the app:

Go to your message thread with the student, click on the person symbol in the top right-hand corner, you’ll then be redirected to the students information page where you can click the ‘Report’ button. Once you’ve done this, you'll be asked to confirm your report as shown below:

Please do not use the Report function unnecessarily, for example, when a student does not attend a lesson. For this, or anything else, please contact our Tutor Expert team on 0114 383 0989 or [email protected].
